The Trix 25420 H0 Re 4/4 II 11141 electric locomotive is a detailed reproduction of the 1st construction series of this versatile electric locomotive of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). With its striking pebble gray/blue-orange paint scheme, it was in service from 1975 as a train locomotive of the famous Swiss Express. This model combines technical precision, extensive digital functions and historical authenticity.
The Re 4/4 II is one of the most successful locomotives of the Swiss Federal Railways. Developed for fast passenger services, the 1st series was used from the 1960s onwards. With its modern technology and high reliability, the Re 4/4 II was an ideal choice for the Swiss Express, which ran between Geneva and Zurich from 1975. The locomotive with the road number 11141 wore the striking pebble gray/blue-orange paint scheme that was specially designed for the Swiss Express.
The model of the Trix 25420 Re 4/4 II is impressive with its precise reproduction of the locomotive. The detailed roof superstructures, including the newly designed scissor pantographs, and numerous separately applied details such as grab irons and the reproduction of the automatic coupler with transverse linkage provide a realistic appearance. Equipped with a digital decoder, the model offers a variety of functions. The direction of travel-dependent Swiss light change (three-light headlights and a white marker light) can be controlled digitally. For solo runs, the lighting can be switched to a red marker light. Shunting, warning and wrong way signals as well as the cab and engine room lighting can be controlled separately. Maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs provide authentic lighting.
The controlled high-performance drive with centrally installed flywheel drives all four axles via cardan shafts. Traction tires ensure high tractive force. A buffer tank ensures uninterrupted operation even during short periods without power. With a minimum radius of 360 mm, the locomotive can be used flexibly.
The Re 4/4 II 11141 was the ideal train locomotive for the Swiss Express. It can be perfectly combined with the Swiss Express car sets (e.g. Trix 23690 and Trix 23691) on your model railroad layout to represent an authentic Era IV train. It is also suitable for use in fast regional and long-distance trains.
