The Trix 25601 brings one of the most famous German switching locomotives to the H0 layout with great attention to detail: the class 260 of the German Federal Railroad in operating condition around 1980. With the road number 260 106-0 and the typical ocean blue/ivory paint scheme, this model embodies the striking look of late Era IV. The locomotive is technically impressive with its extensive digital functions, realistic sounds and its robust metal design.
The model is based on the standard version with reinforced radiator grille, ventilation flaps on the driver's cab roof and the Dofa furnace without coal container. The locomotive is equipped with train path radio, Indusi on both sides and the first type of silencer - all implemented with many intricate details.
The controlled high-performance drive drives one axle directly and two others via coupling rods including the dummy shaft - typical of the BR 260. Thanks to the Telex coupler on both sides of the locomotive, coupling roller function and buffer storage, the model is ideally equipped for realistic and uninterrupted shunting runs.
The mfx/DCC decoder controls extensive operating and sound functions: From the original Maybach engine noise and the characteristic points crossing noise to the signal horn, brake squeal and compressor. The light can also be extensively controlled - including direction-dependent headlights, red tail light, driver's cab and running gear lighting as well as double A-light. All light sources are equipped with long-life LEDs.
