The Trix 25680 H0 Ae 6/8 electric locomotive is a masterful reproduction of the legendary locomotive of the Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon Railroad (BLS). As a powerhouse from the 2nd construction series, with a dark brown basic paint scheme and the striking engine room design, this model brings the atmosphere of the Alpine lines in Era III to your model railroad layout. The Ae 6/8 was developed by BLS for freight and passenger traffic on the steep routes of the Swiss Alps. It was one of the most powerful electric locomotives of its time and was specially designed for the challenges of mountain routes. The locomotive of the 2nd construction series, road number 207, is characterized by its robust technical features such as the brake resistors in the engine room, front transition plates and the Signum-Integra magnet at locomotive end II. Its operating condition in the late 1940s and early 1950s makes it a fascinating example of Swiss engineering.

The driver's cab, driver's desk and engine room lighting can be controlled separately, which enables a realistic representation of operation. Maintenance-free LEDs in warm white and red ensure long-lasting and prototypical lighting.
The controlled high-performance drive with centrally installed flywheel mass drives the outer driving wheel sets in each bogie via cardan shafts. Traction tires guarantee a high tractive force so that the locomotive can also handle heavy freight trains without any problems. A buffer tank ensures uninterrupted operation, even during short power interruptions. The model is suitable for a minimum radius of 360 mm and therefore offers a wide range of applications on different layouts.
The Ae 6/8 is ideal for use on Alpine lines, where it can pull heavy freight trains and fast passenger trains. On your model railway layout, it complements historical train compositions of Era III and brings the fascination of the Swiss mountain railroads to your collection.
