With the Trix 25853 ET 85, Trix is bringing a classic of Era III back to the model railroad layout - in a contemporary digital version. The model shows the well-known ET 85 electric railcar including the ES 85 control car of the German Federal Railroad in the typical purple-red paint scheme. Realized in H0 scale (1:87), this multiple unit impresses with its detailed design, robust construction and modern technology - a real highlight for fans of the German Federal Railroad.

Completely redesigned classic

The model is based on the new design from 2023 and is true to the original in many details: Metal body, fine brake lines, multi-part interior and train rear lanterns on the roof. The length over buffers is 468 mm. The multiple unit is factory-equipped with a DCC/mfx digital decoder and offers realistic sound functions for an acoustically impressive driving experience.

Modern functions for realistic operation

Equipped with LED interior lighting, driver's cab lighting and white/red light change, the model leaves nothing to be desired. The high-performance drive with flywheel drives four axles, ensuring smooth running and reliable traction. Both vehicle units are connected via a multi-pole coupling to ensure a reliable power supply and even light distribution.

Historic use around Munich

The ET 85 series was developed from converted Bavarian local railway carriages and was used in electric suburban services around Munich from 1927. Modernized from the 1950s, it remained in active service until the 1970s. The model shows the condition as of 1958, stationed at the Munich depot.
