The Trix 25963 locomotive presents the powerful class 2159 (Stadler Eurodual) dual-power locomotive in an attractive red paint scheme for the Rail Cargo Group (RCG). The locomotive with the road number 2159 269-0 is in operating condition as of 2025 and is being leased to the RCG by the European Loc Pool AG (ELP). This completely redesigned locomotive is an absolute highlight for modern Era VI layouts and combines electric and diesel-powered traction at the highest level.

Highly detailed metal design with powerful technology

The centrally installed high-performance drive with flywheel drives two axles per bogie via cardan shafts. Traction tires ensure maximum tractive force. The locomotive has a robust metal design and is equipped with a buffer tank that reliably bridges short powerless sections. The buffer height complies with the NEM standard.

Digital highlights: Light, sound and movement

A DCC, mfx and RailCom-capable digital decoder controls a wide range of operating and sound functions. These include the three-light headlights depending on the direction of travel, two red tail lights, separately switchable high beam as well as the cab, engine room and coupling compartment lighting. The LED lighting is warm white or red and maintenance-free.

Detailing at the highest level

Special highlights are the two newly designed pantographs that can be raised and lowered digitally and the motor-driven, digitally switchable fan wheels on the roof. In addition, numerous separately applied parts such as grab rails, UIC sockets, sandboxes and roof lines are installed. The elaborately designed roof superstructures underline the modern character of this hybrid power pack.
