The model is based on the legendary Mercedes-Benz 1624 round bonnet, which is equipped with a powerful 6-cylinder OM 355 in-line engine. The engine produced 177 kW (240 hp) and made the round hood a popular vehicle for construction sites and transporting heavy loads. This vehicle was prized for its reliability and versatility - characteristics that have been faithfully reproduced in the model.
Like all models in the CarMotion series, this round hood is also equipped with innovative technology. The speed-controlled motor ensures smooth braking and acceleration, while the speed can be individually adjusted. The modern Li-Po batteries enable a running time of 4-6 hours in normal operation and guarantee fast charging times, ensuring reliable operation.
The model is controlled via infrared signals, permanent magnets (Art. 8431), electromagnetic stop coils or the CarMotion remote control (Art. 8402). Distance control via infrared ensures safe operation with other vehicles. Short reversing maneuvers are possible even without lane aids, which underlines the flexibility of the model. The underfloor drive enables an open loading area and thus increases the functionality of the tipper platform.
The model is equipped with extensive lighting functions, including low beam, high beam, controllable indicators, hazard warning lights, brake lights and reversing lights. The visible driver's cab with figure and cab lighting provide additional authenticity. Depending on the area of application, the model also has a roof blinker, which is typical for construction site vehicles.
For an even more realistic experience, the model can be equipped with the retrofit sound set Art. 8451. This module simulates the typical engine noises of the Mercedes-Benz 1624 and adds another interactive component to the model.
The model has a size of L 8.2 x W 3.3 x H 3.3 - 4.8 cm and fits perfectly into H0 model landscapes. The 5-pin plug-in coupling enables the connection of CarMotion trailers or semi-trailers, making the vehicle very versatile. It is compatible with contact wire and magnetic strip systems and can be easily integrated into existing layouts.
