The YaMoRC YD8248 is a multifunctional model railroad decoder module that can control servo motors as well as operate LED signals or simple switching outputs. With 4 servo connections and 8 freely configurable MOSFET outputs, the device is particularly suitable for points, signals, control devices or light functions on digital systems.
The decoder works with voltages of approx. 12-19 V DC or 10-16 V AC. Maximum output current is approx. 3 A in total. The 4 servos can usually use 90° or 180° deflection. There are expansion options: Up to 12 servos can be connected using the YD8291 adapter. Additional relay interfaces (e.g. YD8290) are available for frog polarization for turnouts.
All 8 MOSFET outputs can be used flexibly - from simple on/off circuits to complex signals with several LEDs or lamps. Modern control protocols such as DCCext or conventional DCC turnout commands are supported. Addressing and basic settings are made using a simple programming button, and clear text configuration via ES-Link technology is possible. No complicated CV settings are necessary.
This module is not suitable for normal magnetic turnout drives; for this YaMoRC recommends special decoders such as YD8008 or YD8044. It is ideal for motorized turnouts, signals or automatic scenarios with several display elements. The MOSFET outputs have up to 2 A contact current and can switch lights or small loads, for example.
