Bemo 1258110 H0m electric locomotive Ge 4/4 II 611 "Nostalgielok", RhB, Ep. VI Product Details

Bemo 1258110 H0m electric locomotive Ge 4/4 II 611 "Nostalgia Locomotive", RhB, Era VI, green & chrome

The Bemo 1258110 H0m electric locomotive Ge 4/4 II 611 "Nostalgia locomotive" is an exact replica of the first Ge 4/4 II locomotive of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) in Era VI. This model impresses with its historic color scheme in green and chrome and at the same time offers modern technical features for model railroad operation.

The prototype of the Ge 4/4 II 611

The Ge 4/4 II 611 was the first locomotive of its class to be put into service by the RhB in 1973. Originally delivered in green livery with chrome trim lines, it shaped the image of the RhB for decades. Over the years, technical modifications were made, including the retrofitting of rectangular headlights and modern brake and electric coupling systems. These modifications enabled it to be used in modern rail operations without restriction. In 2024, the locomotive was restored to its original delivery condition by the Grün & Chrom Foundation and added to the RhB's fleet of nostalgic vehicles.

The Rhaetian Railway (RhB) in Era VI

In Era VI, which begins in 2007, the RhB is relying on a combination of modern and historic vehicles. While the most modern traction units dominate day-to-day operations, historic locomotives such as the Ge 4/4 II 611 are specifically maintained and used for special trips. This keeps the cultural heritage alive and offers railroad enthusiasts and tourists the opportunity to experience a piece of railroad history up close.

Model maintenance and technical details

The model has a robust die-cast chassis and a precisely manufactured gearbox, which ensures a long service life. The engine room equipment is reproduced in detail and gives the model a realistic interior. Mounted spring assemblies are integrated into the undercarriage, exactly reflecting the prototype. LED top lighting with 3+1 white light change provides prototypical lighting while driving. There is also LED cab lighting, which can be digitally switched and makes the model even more realistic. The model is prepared for sound so that a corresponding module can be retrofitted. The drive and the power consumption are provided via all axles, which ensures even power transmission. The scope of delivery includes brake hoses, heating couplings and handle bars, which are included for self-assembly.

Technical specifications

The model is designed for the H0m track gauge on a scale of 1:87 and has a length over buffers of 149 mm. It is designed for the 2-wire direct current system (DC) and has an MTC21 interface for easy retrofitting of a digital decoder. The LED lighting enables realistic light changes in the direction of travel. The minimum radius for operating this locomotive is 330 mm. The in-house coupler pocket ensures a secure connection with other vehicles.

Color scheme and design

The Ge 4/4 II 611 has been restored to its original green paint scheme with chrome trim lines, which perfectly emphasizes its nostalgic appearance. This color scheme makes the model a special eye-catcher on any H0m layout and is reminiscent of the classic years of the RhB.

Quality and driving characteristics

Bemo relies on the highest quality in production. The Ge 4/4 II 611 impresses with its precise workmanship and fine engravings that faithfully reflect the prototype. The stable running gear ensures smooth running and excellent driving characteristics on the model railway layout. The optional retrofittable digital and sound technology increases the realism of operation and makes the model an ideal choice for demanding model railroaders.

Expansion options and accessories

The locomotive can be equipped with a digital decoder for the MTC21 interface to enable improved control. It is also possible to integrate a sound module to add realistic driving sounds. Matching RhB passenger and freight cars are available separately to create an authentic train composition. Various spare parts and detailing sets are available for individual design.

Recommended purchase for model railroaders

The Bemo 1258110 H0m electric locomotive Ge 4/4 II 611 is a perfect choice for all model railroaders who value historical authenticity and high quality workmanship. With its exact replica, modern technical features and nostalgic color scheme, it is a real highlight on any H0m layout. The model is ideal for fans of the Rhaetian Railway, but also for collectors and operators of historical railroad scenarios.

Scope of delivery

The model is delivered fully assembled and ready to run. It includes the Ge 4/4 II 611 in a green paint scheme with chrome trim lines, equipped with factory-installed LED lighting and cab lighting. Detailed operating instructions with information on maintenance, care and retrofitting options are included. Optional accessories such as digital decoders and sound modules are available separately.

Product advantages

The Ge 4/4 II 611 impresses with its faithful reproduction, high-quality workmanship and precise printing. The robust construction ensures a long service life and reliable operation. Thanks to the optional digitalization, the model can be flexibly integrated into analogue and digital model railway systems.

Care and maintenance

Regular maintenance work should be carried out to ensure the longevity of the model. We recommend removing dust and dirt from the wheels and running gear and occasionally lubricating moving parts with model railroad oil. The LED lighting is low-maintenance, but compatible spare parts should be used when replacing it. Direct sunlight and strong temperature fluctuations should be avoided to prevent material fatigue or discoloration.
