My name is Denis Korn. I’m very pleased that you’re interested in our model train shop, the people behind our company, and our vision for the future.

Our History

The history of our model train shop began in 2005 in Oschatz. That’s where our first retail store opened its doors and, after just a short time, became very popular among model train enthusiasts from the region and all over Germany.

Within just a few years, Modellbahnshop Korn developed into a popular destination for locomotives, cars, tracks, buildings, landscaping, digital control technology, and a wide range of accessories for model railroad layouts.

From the very beginning, our goal has been to offer model railroaders a wide selection, fair prices, and expert advice. It doesn’t matter whether you’re planning your first layout, expanding an existing model railroad, or—as an experienced collector—looking for a special model.

We want to help you create your very own model railroad world. That’s why we focus not only on a diverse product range, but also on reliable service and clear, honest advice.

A company with many years of experience

Since 2020, the Model Train Shop has been part of KORN e.K. I laid the foundation for today’s corporate group back in 1997 with the launch of my first company.

KORN e.K. includes, among others, Musikhaus Korn. This store is known far beyond Germany’s borders and ranks among the largest music stores in the Federal Republic.

The experience we’ve gained across various fields helps us apply proven structures, modern technology, and efficient service to the Model Train Shop as well. At the same time, each of our specialized areas remains independent and is managed by people who are well-versed in the respective products and the needs of our customers.

Since 1997, we have gained extensive experience in online retail and brick-and-mortar retail. As e-commerce specialists, we are among the companies in our fields that identify new developments early on and consistently implement modern solutions.

In doing so, we combine the advantages of a high-performance online store with the personalized advice of a specialty store. You can conveniently browse and order our product range online, or visit us in-store to get advice and examine selected items in person.

Wide Selection and Efficient Logistics

Fast and reliable delivery is a key part of our service promise. That’s why we operate our own logistics center, from which more than 15,000 packages are shipped every month.

More than 18,500 different items are stored there, totaling over 140,000 units. This extensive inventory allows us to keep many products in stock and process orders quickly.

From locomotives and passenger cars to track systems and digital control components, all the way to buildings, figures, and materials for scenery building, you’ll find numerous products for the widest variety of gauges and layout concepts.

Thanks to coordinated processes in purchasing, warehousing, and shipping, we can deliver in-stock items quickly and without additional express fees, at favorable shipping rates.
