Brawa 44161 H0 Triebwagen 511-521, DRG, Ep. II, AC-Sound Product Details
The legendary "Rübezahl" now with AC sound - nostalgia and technology perfectly combined
With the Brawa 44161 elT 517 DRG railcar, you can experience the charm of early electric train transportation - combined with modern digital and sound technology for 3-wire AC systems. The electric railcar also known as the "Rübezahl" brings the history of the DRG from Era II to your H0 layout with impressive sound and light functions true to the original.
Technology & equipment at a glance
The model is designed for 3L alternating current operation (AC) and has digital control with integrated sound. The road number Breslau 517 identifies it as a historically correct DRG vehicle. With a PluX22 interface and new motor, it offers very smooth running, sensitive control and reliable operation.
Light functions & visual details
Thanks to modern LED technology, the railcar offers white headlights, a separately switchable third headlight as well as illuminated upper car lanterns and rear train lights. Particularly atmospheric: the separately switchable interior lighting, which makes scenes in the station or at night look realistic.
Scale & construction
With a length over buffers of 251.7 mm and a minimum radius of 360 mm, the railcar is ideally suited for classic H0 layouts. The coupling according to the NEM standard with close coupling kinematics enables smooth use with matching sidecars. The authentic DRG paintwork, open access platforms and historic design make it a real collector's item.
A look into history: The "Rübezahl" in Silesia
The Hirschberg-Polaun "Zackenbahn" was one of the first electrically operated mountain lines in Prussia. The 511-521 series railcars built from 1926 onwards quickly became a symbol of electric traction and were named "Rübezahl" because of their striking appearance. They ran flexibly with sidecars or solo and were renamed several times over the years - most recently as ET89 01-11.
Some railcars survived the end of the war, but only ET89 04 made it into the DB fleet and was used until 1959. Today, this historic railcar lives on in the form of models - including this high-quality replica from Brawa.
For model railroaders with a demand for sound, technology and history
