Brawa 44166 H0 railcar ET 89 01-11 „Rübezahl“, DB, Ep. III Product Details
Last of its kind - the ET 89 04 "Rübezahl" in Era III
With the Brawa 44166 ET 89 04 railcar from the German Federal Railroad, you can bring a piece of railroad history to your H0 layout. This Era III model represents the last surviving railcar of the famous "Rübezahl" series - in an authentic DB design with a striking appearance and many technical refinements.
Technology and model information
The railcar is designed for 2-conductor direct current operation and is based on the ET 89 04, which was in use at the Munich main station depot until 1959. A PluX22 interface allows easy digitization. The new motor ensures smooth running and reliable driving characteristics on all standard H0 tracks.
Lighting and functions
Equipped with LED technology, the model offers red and white light changes, illuminated upper car lanterns and train rear lights as well as a third headlight that can be switched separately. The interior lighting can also be activated separately and brings atmospheric scenes to your layout - whether in the station or on the open track.
Dimensions and possible uses
With a length over buffers of 251.7 mm, the ET 89 04 fits perfectly in any H0 layout of Era III. The minimum radius is 360 mm, the coupling is via NEM shaft with close coupling kinematics - ideal for operation with other historic DB wagons.
The prototype - the last "Rübezahl" on the DB
Of the 11 railcars originally built, only three survived the end of the war. ET 89 04 was the only one to be taken into service by the German Federal Railroad. Originally operated as a 2nd and 3rd class car, it became a pure 2nd class vehicle after the class reform in 1956. On September 2, 1959, it was the last representative of its class to be taken out of service and subsequently scrapped.
Its unusual appearance with open access platforms, its long service life and its status as a loner on the DB make the ET 89 04 a particularly interesting model for all Era III enthusiasts.
A must for Era III enthusiasts
The Brawa 44166 ET 89 04 is the perfect choice for model railroaders looking for a special locomotive with history and character. Whether as a solo vehicle or with a matching sidecar - this model is a real highlight on any H0 layout.
