Model Information & Technical Data

Technology & Lighting

The 5-pole motor with drive on all axles ensures high tractive force and prototypical speed. The LED headlight changes between white and red depending on the direction of travel. Additionally, a tail light and cab lighting are integrated. The minimum radius is 192 mm.

Prototype History: The 216 in Construction Train Service

The Class 216 was part of the DB AG fleet until the early 2000s, before many units were sold to private companies such as H.F. Wiebe. There they found a new role in railway construction and transport services—some in their original condition, others modernized. The locomotive shown here bears the road number 92 80 1216 012-5 and features the yellow color scheme typical of H.F. Wiebe. H.F. Wiebe is a registered trademark and stands for reliability in track construction.
