Description

LGB 21431 electric locomotive Ge 4/4 III, RhB, Ep. VI (incl. sound) Product Details

About the model: The class Ge 4/4 III electric locomotive is in RhB (Rhaetian Railroad) design and is from Era VI. The model is running in a special paint scheme that draws attention to the world record attempt with 25 Capricorn multiple units in October 2022. All 4 wheelsets are powered by 2 powerful Bühler motors. The locomotive is factory equipped with an mfx/DCC decoder with many light and sound functions. The pantographs on the roof are motor-driven and can be controlled digitally.

About the prototype: The class Ge 4/4 III electric locomotives are the most modern locomotives of the RhB and can be seen in front of all types of trains. With an output of 2,400 kW and a top speed of 100 km/h, they meet all the requirements of operation on a mountain railroad. In recent years, the RhB has begun to modernize the locomotives delivered from the mid-1990s - on the one hand, the electronics are being renewed and thus brought up to date, on the other hand, the locomotives are receiving modern LED headlights, and the originally installed signal horns are being replaced by a compressed air whistle. Modernized in this way, the locomotives will be in service for another 20 to 25 years.
