The "Wiebe"

In 1962, Henschel sent the V 320 001, the largest and most powerful diesel-hydraulic locomotive in Europe at the time (3,800 hp), on loan to DB. After various changes of ownership, it finally ended up in Italy. From there, the track construction company WIEBE spectacularly imported the V 320 back to Germany in 1999. After extensive refurbishment and completion of the main inspection, it was back on German tracks in construction train service in March 2000, soon to be designated 320 001-1 (WIEBE 7). She was primarily responsible for transporting heavy loads of trains with track construction materials. Her career finally came to an end in 2015 due to wheelset bearing damage. Since 2017, it has enriched its manufacturing plant in Kassel (now Alstom) as an exhibit.
