About the original: The German Federal Railroad's class 215 is a diesel locomotive that was used for medium-duty passenger and freight train service on main lines as well as on branch lines. A total of 150 units were produced between 1968 and 1971. Due to their versatility and robust design, locomotives from the 215 series were still in service with DB and DB AG until 2008. Some 215s are still in service today with various private railroad companies.

About the model: Minitrix is now reproducing this locomotive characteristic of German rail traffic in the condition of Era IV in the blue and beige paint scheme of the DB. In addition to the true-to-original paint scheme, the look includes a large number of intricate components, such as free-standing grab irons, running gear details and roof vents. The model is powered by a modern, powerful motor with flywheel mass. This ensures excellent running characteristics and high tractive power.
