Piko 37473 G Hybrid Locomotive BR 249, Dual Mode, DBAG, Era VI, DC-Sound
Are you looking for a modern hybrid locomotive for your G-gauge layout that flexibly combines electric and diesel operation? The Piko 37473 DB AG BR 249 Dual Mode brings a contemporary Epoch VI locomotive with factory-installed sound and numerous digital functions to your garden railway.
The prototype, also known as the Vectron Dual Mode light, was developed by Siemens specifically for DB Cargo’s freight operations. The locomotive can switch between electric and diesel operation, thereby eliminating the need for a locomotive changeover on the so-called “last mile.”
BR 249 Dual Mode for Modern Freight Transport
The series is primarily designed for local and single-car transport. Production takes place at the Siemens plant in Munich-Allach. The model reproduces the lightweight version of the BR 249 with many functional details and an impressive length over buffers of 717 mm.
Particularly attractive features include the digitally controllable cab lighting, the engine room lighting, the digital coupler, and the pulsed evaporator. The digitally adjustable pantograph also creates an impressive effect during operation.
Sound, lighting functions, and many attached details
The locomotive comes factory-equipped with a PIKO sound decoder and features direction-dependent white/red lighting. Opening doors, attached windshield wipers, antennas for shunting radio, and a cab with a sunshade underscore the highly detailed design.
Get the Piko 37473 G Hybrid Locomotive BR 249 Dual Mode DBAG and expand your garden railway with a modern sound locomotive featuring impressive capabilities for freight transport, shunting operations, and the last mile.
