Piko 52619 H0 Diesellok BR 221 blau/ beige, DB, Ep. IV, AC-Sound Product Details
Piko 52619 H0 Diesel locomotive BR 221 blue/beige, DB, Ep. IV, AC sound - Powerful classic with a striking design
With the Piko 52619 BR 221 diesel locomotive in the striking blue/beige color scheme of the German Federal Railroad, you can bring a real powerhouse of Era IV to your H0 layout. The locomotive is based on the proven V200.1 design (PIKO #52600) and is presented here in a variant version without decorative strips - prototypically and authentically implemented.
True to the original implementation of the DB class 221
The class 221 was a further development of the well-known V200 and found its place primarily in the heavy passenger and freight train service of the 1970s. With its characteristic shape and powerful technology, it was one of the DB's most striking diesel locomotives. This model realistically reflects the special technical and visual features of Era IV.
Blue/beige paintwork as a symbol of the modernization of the Bundesbahn
The elegant blue and beige color scheme stands for the uniform appearance of the DB in the 1970s. PIKO has implemented the paintwork with sharp contours and flawlessly. The model dispenses with the ornamental strips of the original design and thus brings an authentic later version of the BR 221 onto the tracks.
State-of-the-art technology installed as standard
The locomotive is factory-fitted with a PIKO XP sound decoder with matching loudspeaker. The powerful sound, combined with digitally switchable cab lighting and direction of travel-dependent light change (white/red), provides a realistic operating atmosphere. The technical basis of the locomotive corresponds to the proven quality of the #52600 model.
Perfect for operation on AC systems
Designed for the AC current system and equipped with a PluX22 interface, the locomotive offers a wide range of applications on digital layouts. Two traction tires ensure high tractive power, even with longer trains. Thanks to the NEM shaft and close coupler link, the locomotive can be easily integrated into existing train formations.
Ideal for Era IV trains in passenger and freight service
The class 221 can be used universally and can be combined with both passenger and freight cars. Its characteristic appearance and powerful sound make it a highlight on any Era IV layout - whether in shunting operations or on the main line.
