Roco 70265 diesel locomotive BR 106, DR, Ep. IV Product Details
Starting in 1955, the Deutsche Reichsbahn of the GDR developed the V 60 diesel-hydraulic locomotive for medium-duty shunting service. These machines were primarily intended to put an end to the less than rational use of steam locomotives in shunting service. From 1962 to 1964, the first series of 163 locomotives was delivered to the DR by LKM Babelsberg. While the first main series was still being built, a rain protection roof was installed over the side windows. Due to a new service regulation, DR shunting locomotives were successively painted orange-yellow in the course of overhauls.
