Roco 73896 diesel locomotive 118 512-3, DR, Ep. IV Product Details
The German State Railroad diesel locomotive 118 512 in the four-axle "Sparlack" version with horizontal grab irons on the front and switchable headlights/tail lights, which are switched using DIP switches. It also has many separately attached plug-in parts, some of which are made of metal. An etched sign set is also included.
History: The class V 180 of the German Reichsbahn of the GDR was the largest diesel locomotive built in the GDR. It was initially built in a four-axle version with two 2-axle bogies, later there were also 6-axle variants. The low axle mass of 15.6 tons of the six-axle version is still considered an engineering masterpiece today, so that this locomotive can also be used universally on branch lines. It also has approval for steep gradients. The resulting possible area of use is unique for large German diesel locomotives.
