Roco 7710011 H0 Diesel railcar 5042.10, ÖBB, Ep. III, DC sound
Would you like to combine Austrian railroad history with modern digital technology? Then the Roco 5042.10 ÖBB diesel railcar is the perfect model for your digital DC system. With its characteristic appearance, true-to-original sound and the finest detailing, this railcar is a real highlight of Era III!
ÖBB tradition on rails
The 5042.10 is a further development of the VT 42 railcars built between 1935 and 1937, which were originally designed for the Western Railway. After the war, these vehicles continued to be operated under the new designation 5042. With two 210 hp engines and a top speed of 110 km/h, they were used as express and high-speed railcars throughout the ÖBB network - particularly in the Villach, Graz and Lienz areas.
Detailed realization with typical roof structure
The Roco model shows the 5042.10 variant with a modified roof and gray frame. Numerous separately applied parts - partly made of metal - as well as a fully finished interior make this railcar a real eye-catcher. The analog light functions (interior lighting and tail lights) can also be activated using DIP switches.
Digital control with sound & variety of lights
Equipped with a PluX22 decoder, the railcar not only offers a realistic motor sound, but also digitally switchable light functions: Headlights/tail lights, high beams, shunting lights, driver's cab and interior lighting can be controlled individually - ideal for day and night operation.
Solid technology for reliable operation
With two powered axles (one with traction tires), flywheel mass and an integrated buffer capacitor, the 5042.10 runs particularly smoothly - even with short power interruptions. The minimum radius is 358 mm, which means that the railcar can be used on all standard H0 layouts without any problems.
Conclusion: Nostalgia meets digital precision
The Roco 7710011 diesel railcar 5042.10 is a must for every ÖBB fan and lover of historic railcars with modern equipment. Now available in the model railroad store - bring Austrian flair of Era III with sound and light to your layout!
