Trix 25175 - H0 Diesel express railcar VT 18.16 "SVT Görlitz", DR (Era VI)
The Trix 25175 represents a real highlight of East German railroad history: the legendary VT 18.16 express railcar of the German State Railroad, also known as the "SVT Görlitz". Refurbished in Era VI, the model shows the museum set as it was in 2025/26 - initiated by SVT Görlitz gGmbH. The vehicle is a symbol of enthusiasm for technology, historical appreciation and regional identity - under the motto "A train for Central Germany".
These ivory-red prestige trains once traveled throughout Europe as the "Karlex", "Neptun" or "Vindobona". Today, the classic is returning to the model tracks - with the finest technology, authentic design and digital equipment at the highest level.
Technical details & equipment
The model is a completely new construction in scale (1:87). The four-part unit consists of two power cars (VTa and VTb) and two center cars (VMc with kitchen and dining room and VMd). The heavy-duty drive with flywheel drives all four axles of a power car via cardan shaft. Traction tires ensure safe traction.
A DCC/mfx decoder with RailCom support controls numerous operating, light and sound functions. The LED interior lighting, cab and engine room lighting, lighting in the kitchen area and the table lamps in the dining car can be controlled separately digitally. All lighting functions use maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs. An integrated buffer memory ensures reliable operation in the event of power interruptions.
Design & true to the original
The train is made of heavy metal with finely detailed superstructures, multi-part interior fittings and attached details. Power is supplied via the front power car depending on the direction of travel. Special current-conducting multi-pole couplers with guide rails connect the cars. The automatic couplers at the ends are not functional, but are faithfully reproduced.
With an overall length of approx. 113 cm and a minimum radius of 360 mm, the train is suitable for operation on all standard H0 layouts.
