TT-Koch 021618 H0 GDR Red Cross X-Ray Train
Would you like to add an extraordinary and historically significant emergency vehicle to your H0 layout? The GDR DRK X-ray train brings a special chapter in the history of mobile healthcare to your model railroad with meticulous attention to detail.
The DRK X-ray train was a mobile unit of the German Red Cross in the former GDR. Its mission was to conduct medical examinations—particularly X-ray examinations—in rural and remote areas. In doing so, it made an important contribution to preventive healthcare and the early detection of diseases. This model authentically captures this historical feature.
Extensive features with prototypical accuracy
The model consists of several precisely replicated units. The W 50 power car with equipment trailer is based on a basic W 50 injection-molded model from Protoy, supplemented by a trailer body made of 3D-printed parts. This combination ensures stability and fine detail.
Trailer 1 is designed as an X-ray car with an integrated darkroom. The undercarriage and wheel sets are injection-molded, while the superstructures are produced using high-resolution SLA 3D printing. As with the prototype, the windows of the X-ray car and the darkroom are covered from the inside—a striking and realistic detail.
Customizable Interiors
Trailer 2 features a replica lounge, a reception and waiting area, and an examination room with a passageway to Car 1. The interior furnishings are removable and customizable, allowing you to outfit the model according to your own preferences.
The roof is supplied separately and can be attached with peel-and-stick adhesive once the interiors have been customized. The windows on this trailer are not covered. The undercarriage and wheel sets are injection-molded, while the interior fittings and superstructures are manufactured using the SLA 3D printing process.
Modern manufacturing meets historical theme
This is a new design, manufactured using additive manufacturing via high-resolution UV resin 3D printing. The included wet-slide decals allow for authentic lettering. Side mirrors and a truck coupler are also included and can be attached individually.
Manufactured in 1:87 scale (H0 gauge), this model is ideal for detailed GDR-themed scenes, medical mission displays, or as an extraordinary collector’s item.
