A capstan, more correctly a rope shunting system, is used to move wagons on loading tracks, in factory yards, under loading facilities and the like. Where the use of a shunting locomotive was not possible, shunting by means of a rope pulled by a winch was a widespread alternative in the past.Four filigree, movable pulleys and the enclosed rope make our replica functional. The prototypical winch house with interior serves in the model to cover the drive motor underneath.
