A capstan system, or more correctly a rope shunting system, is used to move wagons on loading tracks, in factory yards, under loading facilities and the like. Where it was not possible to use a shunting locomotive, shunting by means of a rope pulled by a winch used to be a widespread alternative.Four filigree, movable pulleys and the enclosed rope make our replica functional. The prototypical winch house with interior fittings is used in the model to cover the drive motor underneath.
