From the Balkans to Styria - and on to the Zillertal

Locomotive VL 23 was built in 1968 as part of the Yugoslavian class 740 and joined the Styrian State Railways (StLB) together with VL 22 in 1980. After the end of the Thörlerbahn, it was used on the Feistritztalbahn and was loaned to the Zillertalbahn between 1999 and 2003, where it ran timber trains with rolling stock. It was later transferred to the Murtal valley and finally received a new livery for the Binderholz timber traffic - the model shown here still shows the locomotive in its original orange livery.

Authentic operational picture of Era V-VI

The model reflects the condition of the locomotive before its modernization with LED headlights and new paint scheme - ideal for scenes from Austrian branch line and industrial use between the 1990s and early 2010s. A later model version in the current white/dark blue has already been announced.

Detailed realization and digital equipment

The chassis is made of robust die-cast, drive and power are supplied via all four axles. A 5-pole motor ensures smooth running, LED headlights in the direction of travel and digitally switchable driver's cab lighting bring light into play.
