Refit for the future - technology meets design

As part of a comprehensive refurbishment programme, the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway had nine of its 13 HGe 4/4 II locomotives modernized from 2021. Locomotive 109 is part of this refit generation, in which the main components were replaced, the technology updated and the design slightly adapted. This can be seen, among other things, in the modern air conditioning unit between the bogies and the new LED headlights.

Typical MGB - powerful and versatile

With its 170 mm length over buffers, the locomotive is ideal for model layouts in Era VI. The functional Abt system cogwheel drive makes it perfect for steep lines in model operation. The locomotive can optionally be converted to H0e - but then without rack and pinion function.

High-quality model technology with scope for individualization

The die-cast chassis ensures stable driving behavior. Drive and power are supplied via all four axles and the powerful 5-pole motor guarantees smooth running. LED headlights in the direction of travel are fitted as standard. Brake hoses, heating couplings and handlebars are included for self-assembly and allow the model to be customized. The model is ready for digital upgrading via the Next18 digital interface.
