Originally painted in oxide red, the vehicle was repainted several times over the years. Between 1988 and 1997, it was given an orange livery before it was finally given its now familiar yellow appearance.

Technical modifications were made on an ongoing basis, in particular to the roof superstructure and the rotating and extendable work platform. The vehicle was modernized in 1997 and 2002, whereby the safety standards of the working platform were improved.
