Bemo 3288314 H0m Arst 152 Control Car, Golden Pass, Era V–VI – an exclusive panoramic experience with a roof-mounted cab
Would you like to add a true classic of modern narrow-gauge technology to your H0m layout? The Bemo Arst 152 control car from the famous Golden Pass series combines impressive design, fascinating technical history, and exclusive panoramic views—perfect for anyone who values exceptional models based on real-life prototypes.
The History of Panoramic Cars – A Swiss Success Story
The success story of panoramic cars on Swiss meter-gauge tracks began in 1976, when the MOB introduced a new type of observation car featuring large side windows, skylights, and air conditioning. A milestone followed in 1986 with the “Superpanoramic Express,” a train set consisting of two control cars and two salon cars, with a motor car positioned in the middle. What made it particularly unique: The locomotive engineer did not sit at the front as usual, but in a roof-mounted cab above the passengers in the control car—a technical and visual feature.
Arst 152 – the highlight of 1993
In 1993, the series was expanded with two new control cars, including the Arst 152, as well as the matching center cars Bs 251 and Bs 252. Here, too, the driver’s cab was located above the passengers’ heads—a spectacular driving experience combined with large panoramic windows. The train operated with the locomotive positioned in the middle—a striking feature of this design.
GoldenPass Concept since 2002
Starting in 2002, the four Breda panoramic cars—Arst 151/152 and Bs 251/252—were combined with modernized older cars to form the “GoldenPass” line. These trains stood out not only for their golden paintwork but also for their first-class comfort and high-quality technology. The powerful Ge 4/4 8001–8004 locomotives were used to pull the trains, confidently mastering even the most challenging routes.
H0m model for the highest standards
The Arst 152 model is built in H0m scale and is ideal for meter-gauge layouts. With a length over the buffers of 212.6 mm and a minimum radius of over 330 mm, it is also suitable for smooth cornering. The characteristic panoramic glazing, the authentic replica of the roof cab, and the high-quality workmanship make this control car a true gem on your layout.
Perfect for modern train formations
The Arst 152 is the ideal addition to a complete Golden Pass train set—for example, in combination with the Bs 252 or the Arst 151 control car. It fits perfectly into Era V–VI layouts with an international flair and is a real highlight for both running on the track and display in a showcase.
