Brawa 40092 H0 Steam locomotive 65.10, DR, Ep. III, AC sound - AC version with impressive depth of detail
Are you looking for a prototypical steam locomotive from the German State Railroad, perfectly coordinated with your Märklin/AC layout? With the Brawa 40092 you get the class 65.10 as a high-quality AC alternating current sound version. The model shows the 65 1056 locomotive in authentic condition from 1965 and combines the finest art of model building with modern digital and sound technology.
The class 65.10 - modern new DR tender locomotive
From 1951, the Deutsche Reichsbahn of the GDR began the systematic renewal of its steam locomotive fleet. The class 65.10 tender locomotive was built in the performance class of the Prussian P 8 and T 18. Its design was based on the class 25 test locomotives, which in turn were based on designs by the Borsig company. Despite parallel series production and testing, the locomotive proved itself in tough everyday operation.
A total of 88 locomotives were built by 1957. They were mainly used for commuter services with short distances between stops, where their very good acceleration was impressive. With a top speed of 90 km/h and an operating weight of 113 t, the BR 65.10 was powerful and versatile. From the mid-1960s, many locomotives were fitted with wet steam regulators, new mixing preheaters and the distinctive Giesel ejector with flat chimney.
Prototypical condition from 1965 - finely realized
The model depicts locomotive 65 1056 as it was in 1965: with the original chimney, wet steam regulator and the old design of the feed lines. Numerous components have been redesigned to exactly reproduce the characteristic appearance of this era. Wind deflectors with correctly rounded corners, a new smokebox door with filigree sashes and finely reworked wheel hubs underline the high standards of this model.
AC sound technology & lighting - perfect for AC systems
The Brawa 40092 is designed as an AC alternating current sound version and is therefore ideal for use on Märklin-compatible layouts. The drive built into the boiler allows a clear view through the driver's cab. Maintenance-free LEDs provide a prototypical white/red light change. The whole thing is complemented by realistic effects such as cab lighting, engine lighting and flickering fire, which make the model look particularly lively.
Model technology & workmanship at the highest level
The running gear has been extensively modernized to ensure smooth and reliable handling. The newly designed kinematics of the trailing bogie significantly improve the running characteristics, while the modified engine position allows for extended driver's cab details. The coal box is also available with or without toolboxes - just like the prototype.
