About the model: BRAWA combines detailed appearance with typical Brawa quality in the H0 model of the K2 boxcar, SBB, belonging to Era II. The high-quality model impresses with its prototypical appearance and high-quality features such as metal axle webs and wheels as well as close-coupling kinematics. The car has a length of approx. 96 mm.
About the prototype: Standardization of some freight car types began early on in Switzerland. These were then also procured by all private railroads in order to improve repairs and spare parts inventory. These included covered freight wagons with a wheelbase of 4.5 m and a frame length of 7.10 m. The wheelbase was later increased to 5 m to improve the running characteristics. SBB procured large quantities of the wagons designated as K2 in this form.
