The Brawa 49358 Xr 35 flat car of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) from Era III is a realistically designed model in 1:87 scale. Historical Prototype and Areas of Use

Work cars like the Xr 35 were indispensable to the railroad and were used at nearly every construction site to transport building materials such as ballast and tools. Since these so-called X-cars could not be used for commercial transport of goods for third parties, older cars were converted into work cars to meet changing requirements. The number of X-cars fluctuated significantly, ranging from approximately 48,500 (1920), 25,000 (1930), 41,500 (1943), to 15,000 (1953). The Xr 35 model chosen by Brawa is based on Gms 30-type cars, whose car bodies were lost in the early 1950s, partly due to war damage. The remaining undercarriages were fitted with new, fixed side walls and adapted to their new roles.
