The Brawa 50074 H0 ÖBB open freight car Omm, Ep.III, is a precise model of the UIC type II freight car that was introduced in the 1950s for standardization in European freight traffic. The wagon, with a length of 10 meters and an axle base of 5.4 meters, follows the welded construction method based on pre-war German models. From 1954, the Deutsche Bundesbahn produced over 10,000 wagons of this type in Kaiserslautern, mainly from new material, although older brake components were used. The ÖBB and other European state railroads used similar wagons, which differed in country-specific details. The Omm wagon remained in service until 1994 and is an important piece of Era III railroad history.
