Description

Brawa 50624 H0 Bulk Car Fads 177, DB, Era IV Product Details

Brawa 50624 H0 Bulk Car Fads 177, DB, Era IV – The Specialist for Ore Transport in Classic Block Trains

Are you looking for an authentic model of the heavy ore transport trains of the 1970s? With the Brawa 50624 Fads 177, you’ll receive a highly detailed self-unloading car from the Deutsche Bundesbahn, designed specifically for older loading facilities—perfect for authentic Era IV block trains.

True to the prototype and technically precise

The car is 137 mm long over the buffers and equipped with close-coupling kinematics. Thanks to fine printing and paintwork, a multi-part braking system with brake shoes at wheel level, and separately attached signal holders, it impresses with its high level of detail. Road number: 31 80 696 4 037-9.

The prototype – Fads 177 for low-level loading facilities

DB developed the Fads 177 model to complement the Fads 175 and 176, in order to continue using older loading facilities. With a lower car body and high load-carrying capacity, these cars were perfectly suited for ore transport. The BA 664 or Y25 bogies ensured stability and a smooth ride—even with the heaviest trains.

Bulk freight transport on the Emsland line

The cars operated almost exclusively in block trains—often in 50-car blocks weighing up to 4,000 metric tons. Typical route: From the Port of Emden to the steelworks in the Ruhr and Saar regions, hauled by two Class 043 or 044 steam locomotives.

Ideal for authentic Era IV block trains

Ideal for combining with other Fads 177, 175, or 176, as well as matching locomotives such as the BR 043, BR 151, or BR 140. Can also be used in mixed traffic with folding cars—for realistic operation on your layout.

A must-have for Era IV heavy-haul enthusiasts

With the Brawa 50624, you’re getting a special model for the authentic ore and coal transport of the Deutsche Bundesbahn—at the highest technical and visual standards.
