Description

Brawa 50934 H0 Gedeckter Güterwagen Glr22, DB, Ep.III 'Kuba Imperial' Product Details

The Brawa 50934 H0 DB boxcar Glr22 from Era III, with the distinctive lettering 'Kuba Imperial', is a fascinating model for model railroad enthusiasts. This large freight car is based on the proven designs of the German State Railroad Car Association and was specially developed for the transportation of light, bulky goods such as glass. This wagon is characterized by many historical details. These include the 2-metre wide, right-opening doors, which are installed in a suspended position, and the riveted bracing, which allows the long girder to be lowered.

The barrel-shaped roof construction is another characteristic feature that distinguishes it from its predecessors with a basket arch roof. Some wagons in this series were equipped with hand brakes and/or gauge change wheel sets to enable the transition to the Russian broad gauge. This was recognizable by the white-painted buffer sleeves and the secondary class mark "r".The wagons of the Glr22 series were assigned to the "Dresden" class and were mainly used to transport light, large-volume goods. Improvements such as longer and softer suspension springs allowed higher speeds and thus use in passenger trains. After 1945, these wagons were used in many European railroad systems due to their robustness and versatility and remained in service until the 1980s, which speaks for their high quality and longevity. This model brings the historical significance and technical heritage of the Glr22 carriages to your model railway layout and provides an authentic and detailed railroad experience.
