Description

Brawa 51155 H0 Leichtbaukesselwagen Z [P], DB, Ep. III Product Details

Brawa 51155 H0 Lightweight Tank Car Z [P], DB, Era III – A Uerdingen Classic in DB Mineral Oil Transport

Are you looking for a typical German tank car with technical sophistication for your Era III freight trains? The Brawa 51155 DB lightweight tank car is based on the groundbreaking frameless Uerdinger design—a perfect addition for authentic depictions of postwar operations.

Finely detailed model with functional elegance

With a length over buffers of 101 mm and NEM-compliant close-coupling kinematics, the model integrates seamlessly into freight trains of all kinds. The bogies with three-point suspension, finely engraved bogie frames, and freestanding handrails ensure a prototypical appearance. Separately attached axle bearing caps, spring assemblies, brake system, and axle brake linkage guarantee a high level of detail. Road number: 558 724 [P].

The Prototype – Frameless Lightweight Construction for Mineral Oil & Co.

The Uerdingen lightweight design, developed starting in 1938, marked a paradigm shift in tank car construction. The elimination of a traditional frame led to material savings while simultaneously providing greater strength. The 30 m³ tank car went into series production in 1941 and, after the war, became an integral part of the DB freight car fleet—particularly for transporting mineral oil.

An all-rounder for transfer trains, refineries, and main lines

Its compact dimensions and robust construction made the car ideal for a wide variety of applications—from local plant traffic to international petroleum trains. Whether hauled by V60, V100, or E40 locomotives, the Z [P] is an authentic representation of the prototype in any configuration.

A model with an authentic background for sophisticated layouts

It pairs perfectly with other tank cars, G-cars, flatcars, or railway service vehicles from Era III. Even as a single unit with a factory-connected appearance, it’s a real eye-catcher.

A classic with technical significance—brilliantly executed

With the Brawa 51155, you bring a piece of freight transport history to your model railroad—precise, durable, and true to service.
