Description

Brawa 51242 H0 Gedeckter Güterwagen Nm, K.P.E.V., Ep. I Product Details

Brawa 51242 H0 Covered freight car Nm, K.P.E.V., Era I: Historical precision on your model railroad layout

The Brawa 51242 H0 Covered Goods Wagon Nm is an authentic reproduction of one of the early goods wagons of the Royal Prussian Railway Administration (K.P.E.V.) from Era I. With its fine detailing and true-to-original printing, this wagon brings the charm and history of the railroad in the early 20th century to your model railway layout.

The prototype: The development of the freight wagons for freight traffic

The foundation of the German State Railway Wagon Association (DWV) in 1909 laid the foundation for standardized freight wagon production. The A2 design, which later became known as the G Kassel or G München, formed the basis for the interlocking wagons of the state railroads. These wagons were built in large series for the K.P.E.V. and other German railroad companies from 1911 onwards.

With a 4.5 m long wheelbase and a load capacity of 15 tons, the freight wagon shown here was ideal for transporting general cargo, agricultural products and industrial goods. The wagons were robustly constructed and could also withstand higher speeds thanks to the installation of air brakes and reinforcements, which made them an important part of the growing rail network.

Brawa - detailed reproduction of historical models

When designing the Nm boxcar,Brawa went to great lengths to reproduce the historical details true to the original. The finely reproduced board joints, openwork wagon body supports and specially attached axle bearing covers ensure a realistic representation. The precise printing and the prototypical reproduction of the signal holder and brake system also make the model a highlight for collectors and model railroaders.

Technical details of the Brawa 51242 Nm freight wagon

The model has a length over buffers of 107.2 mm and is designed for the 2-wire direct current system (DC). The integrated close coupling kinematics and the coupling shafts in accordance with the NEM standard ensure a smooth connection with other wagons and locomotives. Model railroaders who want to convert to AC operation can easily replace the AC wheel sets.

Era I: The heyday of the country railways

Era I (1835-1920) marks the early days of the railroad, in which numerous independent regional railroads shaped the rail network. The K.P.E.V. was the largest German regional railroad and played a central role in the development of freight transport. The interlocking wagons, such as the Nm covered freight wagon shown here, were essential for the transportation of goods and made a significant contribution to economic development.

Conclusion: A piece of railroad history for your model railroad

The Brawa 51242 H0 Covered Goods Wagon Nm is the perfect choice for all model railroaders who value historical authenticity. With its high-quality workmanship and true-to-original detailing, this wagon enriches every H0 layout and makes it a highlight in historical train formations of Era I.
