Description

Brawa 51257 H0 Bierwagen "Bières de Colmar", A.L., Ep. III Product Details

Brawa 51257 H0 "Bières de Colmar" Beer Car, A.L., Ep. III - Perfect addition for historic freight trains

The "Bières de Colmar" beer car from Era III is a fascinating reproduction of a historic car that represents the transportation of beer by rail during the heyday of the French railroad company Alsace-Lorraine (A.L.). With its unique design and attention to detail, this wagon is a valuable addition to any H0 model railroad layout.

The prototype - Beer transportation in the heyday of the railroads

Beer has been an important means of transportation since the early days of the railroads. The breweries had special wagons with insulation made, which they could hire from the railroad companies. These wagons were specially designed to transport the sensitive freight safely and freshly to its destination. The design was based on the standards of normal freight wagons at the time, with smaller construction lots for individual adaptations.

The prototype of this model has a characteristic, vertically mounted wooden cladding, which covers the box frame and gives the wagon a wider shape. Between 1910 and 1970, these wagons were used by many European breweries, especially for transporting large quantities of beer over long distances.

Detailed realization in the model

The Brawa beer wagon impresses with precisely reproduced vertical board joints, a prototypical frame construction and careful printing. Every detail of the original is perfectly captured with specially attached axle box covers, signal brackets and brake systems. The reproduction of the three-point bearing also ensures smooth running and stability on the layout.

A historical highlight for collectors and model railroaders

The "Bières de Colmar" beer wagon is not only an eye-catcher, but also a symbol of the importance of the railroad in European goods transportation. With its authentic design and high-quality workmanship, this model brings the historical transportation of beer to your layout in realistic detail.
