Description

Brawa 51329 H0 Dust Container Car Ucs 909, DB, Era IV Product Details

Brawa 51329 H0 Dust-Carrying Freight Car Ucs 909, DB, Era IV – Specialized for Powdery Bulk Goods

Are you looking for a typical freight car from the 1970s and 1980s with a functional design and high level of model accuracy? The Brawa 51329 Ucs 909 from the Deutsche Bundesbahn is a richly detailed powder freight car with two vertical containers—perfect for industrial connections, silo traffic, and switching scenes involving powdered bulk goods.

Fine detailing in a compact design

With a length over buffers of just 98 mm and NEM-compliant close-coupling mechanism, the model is ideally suited for compact train formations. The car features unobstructed views between the containers, separately attached container lids and valves, footrests, braking system, and axle brake linkage. Even the brake shoes at wheel level have been faithfully reproduced. The road number is 43 80 910 4 455-4 [P].

The Prototype – The Backbone Cars of DB’s Dry Bulk Freight Service

Starting in 1953, DB collaborated with Westwaggon and Talbot to develop modern dry bulk container cars featuring two vertical silo containers. The cars, later designated Ucs 908 and Ucs 909, replaced older designs and, with over 2,500 units built, formed the backbone of dry bulk freight transport—for cement, stone meal, gypsum, quartz sand, salt, sugar, and much more.

Versatile in freight transport during Era IV

The Ucs 909 was primarily used in fixed routes—usually assigned to a home station. Its typical uses included: Supplying industrial facilities or transporting raw materials to the chemical, construction, or food industries. Thanks to its compact design, the car is also ideal for short local freight trains or plant-to-plant transport.

Suitable for realistic layouts with dynamic operations

Ideal for combining with other Ucs cars, sliding-wall cars, or stanchion cars—particularly well-suited for use with BR 290, V100, or BR 140 electric locomotives. Whether in silo trains, industrial railways, or mixed traffic: the UCS 909 impresses with its authenticity.

A must-have for anyone who wants to depict operations realistically

With the Brawa 51329, you can add a specialized technical vehicle to your layout—compact, detailed, and fully operational for the dusty work of Era IV.
