Brawa 58227 H0 E-Lok 242, Press, Ep. VI Product Details
Brawa 58227 H0 Electric locomotive 242, Press, Era VI - The GDR new locomotive for your analog DC layout
Would you like to enrich your H0 layout with a piece of East German railroad history in a modern guise? The Brawa 58227 electric locomotive 242 in the Pressnitz Valley Railroad version is the ideal choice for all analog railroaders with an eye for historical substance and a current Era VI look. Already prepared for locomotive sound, this model offers a perfect start with a future.
Filigree design with stable technology
The locomotive has a finely detailed running gear, a sturdy metal frame and metal wheels. Two traction tires and a powerful, slant-grooved 5-pole motor with two flywheels ensure smooth running and reliable traction. The multi-part roof equipment with free-standing roof cables and the finely crafted metal pantographs underline the high standard of faithfulness to the prototype - even if the latter do not have a current collection function.
Ready for more: Locomotive sound prepared
This model is designed as an Analog BASIC+ version, but is already fully prepared for later digitization including sound retrofitting. This makes it ideal for model railroaders who are starting out in the classic way but would like to switch to digital technology in the future. Driver's cab lighting is available in the Digital EXTRA version.
Technical history from the GDR - interpreted in a modern way
The electric locomotive 242 goes back to the E11 series - the first new-build electric locomotive in the GDR. Developed from the mid-1950s onwards, it also gave rise to further variants for freight train services with the E42. Model 58227 shows one of these locomotives in its current condition as an operational vehicle on the Pressnitz Valley Railway - a fine example of the successful combination of historical roots and modern use.
Ideal for analog Era VI scenarios
With a length over buffers of 187 mm and a minimum radius of 360 mm, the model can easily be used on many layouts - whether in historical station scenes, on museum lines or in modern freight service with a nostalgic fleet.
A classic entry-level model with future potential
The Brawa 58227 is the perfect choice for analogue railway enthusiasts who are looking for a high-quality model with excellent detailing - and want to keep the option open for later digitization. A piece of GDR engineering history that still inspires today.
