Brawa 58295 H0 luggage trolley carPw4ü-36, DRG, Ep. II, AC-Innenbeleuchtung Product Details
Are you looking for a prototypical Era II baggage car with LED interior lighting for your AC layout?
The Brawa 58295 H0 Pw4ü-36 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) is technically and visually accurate and, with its built-in LED interior lighting as well as matching roof and side wall design, brings a piece of 1930s railway history to your model railway layout.
Model Information & Technical Data
The car is designed for H0 gauge (1:87) and measures 249.70 mm over the buffers. Designed for the 3-wire AC system, it is ideal for Märklin-compatible layouts. The LED interior lighting is already installed, and a solderable interface is provided. Thanks to the NEM-compliant coupler housing with close-coupling kinematics, the car can be safely integrated into train sets.
Historically accurate and technically sophisticated
The roof and sidewall construction, specific to this variant, corresponds to the 1936 design. Metal axle holders, separately attached axle brake linkage, a multi-part brake system, prototype-accurate axle bearing caps, and brake shoes at wheel level underscore the model’s fine craftsmanship. The car floor is also fully reproduced. The fine printing and paintwork give the car a high-quality appearance—ideal for collectors and detail-oriented model railroaders.
Illuminated and ready for use on your layout
The factory-installed LED interior lighting creates realistic lighting conditions—whether on night layouts, in shadow stations, or in display cases. The car is robustly constructed and, thanks to its close-coupling mechanism, offers excellent running characteristics in train formations. Perfect for historically accurate Era II formations on AC systems.
The prototype: Luggage car construction marked by welding technology
Starting in 1935, the DRG commissioned the development of welded D-train baggage cars. The 1935, 1936, and 1936a models resulted from this initiative. Between 1935 and 1940, a total of 331 cars were produced, including the first streamlined variants with a roof canopy. The cars provided space for luggage, dog compartments, and the train conductor. While many cars were later modified by the Deutsche Bundesbahn, those remaining with the DR largely stayed in their original condition. It wasn’t until 1984 that the last cars of this series were taken out of service.
A highlight for AC fans of Era II
This car is an excellent choice for model railroaders using the Märklin system who want to combine historical accuracy with technical sophistication. The LED lighting, the prototypical design, and the solid construction make it an indispensable part of any 1930s DRG D-train set.
