Brawa 70154 H0 steam locomotive 44, DB, Ep. III, DC-Sound Product Details
Are you looking for a powerful freight train steam locomotive with digital sound for your Era III layout?
The Brawa 70154 H0 steam locomotive BR 44 of the German Federal Railroad is an excellent model of the well-known 44 606, one of the few oil-heated locomotives with a circulating apron. Equipped with a factory-integrated sound decoder, LED lighting and the finest internal engine with two crank axles, this model is a must for every steam locomotive fan of the 1960s.
Model information & technical data
The model is designed for H0 gauge (scale 1:87) and measures 261 mm over buffers. It is designed for the 2-wire direct current system (DC) and is digitized at the factory with sound. The PluX22 interface also allows the connection of a smoke generator. The locomotive has LED lighting with light change in white as well as interior lighting.
Technology & driving characteristics
The drive is in the tender for optimum tractive power and smooth running characteristics. A close coupler between the locomotive and tender as well as a scenery-guided standard shaft on the tender ensure realistic train formations. The locomotive is equipped with single axle bearings in metal and a true-to-scale wheelbase. Minimum radius: from 360 mm.
Appearance & equipment features
The locomotive has old-style cylinders, roller bearings, Wagner wind deflectors and the 2'2' T34 oil tender. The body consists of detailed plastic components, supplemented by an openwork bar frame and spoked wheels made of die-cast zinc. Filigree metal driving and coupling rods and a movable internal engine round off the prototypical realization.
Prototype: 44 606 - Oil locomotive for heavy freight trains
The 44 606 was one of only three DB oil locomotives with a circulating apron. Stationed at Bw Bebra under the BD Kassel, it was used in front of heavy freight trains on low mountain lines. The class 44 was the backbone of German freight train transportation - the 606 is a particularly striking representative of this legendary series.
For model railroaders with an appreciation for performance, sound and history
The Brawa BR 44 with sound impresses with its impressive appearance, powerful drive, fine technology and true-to-original soundscape. Perfect for operation in heavy train compositions of the German Federal Railroad era.
