Brawa 70168 H0 steam locomotive 150 X, SNCF, Ep. III Product Details
Are you looking for a French heavy steam locomotive for your Era III layout?
With the Brawa 70168 H0 steam locomotive BR 150 X, you can bring an important chapter of European railroad history to your layout. The SNCF locomotive 150 X 24, based on the German class 44, is shown here in the condition from 1946 - without wind deflectors, with ÜK driver's cab and French road number. A must for fans of international train services of the post-war period.
Technical data & model information
The model is produced on a scale of 1:87 for the H0 gauge and measures 261 mm over buffers. It is designed for the 2-wire direct current system (DC), not digitized, but equipped with a PluX22 interface for optional retrofitting of digital or sound functions. The LED lighting offers a light change in white as well as prepared interior and driver's cab lighting.
Mechanics & driving characteristics
The locomotive has a powerful drive in the tender, a movable internal drive unit with two offset axles and a single axle bearing in metal. The close coupler between the locomotive and the tender and the standard guideway for the couplers ensure optimal operation on your layout. Minimum radius: 360 mm.
Detailing & true to the prototype
The 150 X 24 is a detailed reproduction with finely engraved plastic components for the boiler, driver's cab and tender. The openwork ingot frame and spoked wheels made of die-cast zinc and driving wheel sets and coupling rods made of metal emphasize the high quality of the model. Typical for the SNCF version are the missing wind deflector, the disk leading wheel set and the 2'2' T32 tender.
Prototype history: German technology under the French flag
After the Second World War, numerous class 44 locomotives remained in France and continued to be operated by the SNCF as the 150 X series. The 150 X 24 represents one of these locomotives from 1946 onwards - typically French modifications and a symbol of the reconstruction of the European railroad infrastructure.
Perfect for international freight train dioramas
This locomotive is ideal for layouts with cross-border traffic or for themed French Era III scenarios. Thanks to the retrofit options, it is also attractive for digital fans.
