A locomotive with pioneer status
The V320 was created as a one-off from a vision: Henschel developed a large diesel locomotive with two engines and hydraulic power transmission on its own initiative. The locomotive proved itself in heavy express train service and significantly influenced the design of the later V160 family. Despite its success, it remained a solitaire - but one that wrote railroad history. Its stations ranged from DB to private railroads to the Wiebe company - today it stands as a technical monument in the Wittenberge engine shed.
