The Taiga Drum - Powerhouse from the Soviet Union
Between 1966 and 1975, the DR procured a total of 378 class V 200 (later class 120) locomotives from Soviet production. With two diesel engines and an output of 2,000 hp, the locomotives were ideally suited to freight train services - their loud running noise quickly earned them the nickname "Taiga drum". The 120 144 presented here was based in the Dresden depot and had the distinctive wide Dessau decorative stripe.
True to the original in every respect
Roco has reproduced this locomotive in great detail: with original silencers, free-standing shunting handles below the buffers, realistically designed bogies and fully reproduced brake air lines including air tanks. The engine room is printed in multiple colors for the first time and, together with the finely crafted body details, ensures a particularly authentic look.
