Description

Busch 31331 TT Fal Coal Car, DR, Era IV, with a load of coal Product Details

Busch 31331 TT Coal Car, DR, Era IV – Classic bulk freight car with realistic loading

Are you looking for an authentically loaded freight car for your German Reichsbahn Era IV freight trains? The Busch 31331 TT DR Fal coal car with a faithfully reproduced coal load is the perfect addition to your 1:120-scale heavy-haul trains. This model brings the atmosphere of everyday coal transport in the GDR right to your layout—with a high level of detail and robust construction.

Fal – Specialized Cars for Coal and Bulk Cargo

The open high-sided cars of the Fal class were specifically designed for bulk cargo transport. In the GDR, they were primarily used for coal trains, often in shuttle service between open-pit mines, power plants, and industrial facilities. The design—without a roof and with an open platform—is typical for this type of operation. The model features Niesky bogies, which were widely used in this class of railcars.

Model with realistic coal load

The TT version bears the road number 37 50 655 3194 - 7 and comes factory-equipped with a high-quality coal load. The car features intricate engravings on the walls, frames, and discharge hatches, as well as an open deck for realistic end views. The crisp printing rounds out the harmonious appearance.

With a length over buffers of 111 mm and a minimum running radius of 310 mm, the car is suitable for both main lines and more compact layouts. The standard coupler housing with the latest TT coupler ensures full compatibility during operation.

Ideal for coal trains and switching operations

This folding car is ideal for block trains carrying bulk cargo, as well as for mixed trains with G-cars, stake cars, or tank cars. Locomotives such as the DR-BR 120, 110, or 132 complete the picture of a typical GDR freight train from the 1970s and 1980s.

A must-have for realistic coal transport in Era IV

The Busch 31331 TT Folding Coal Car brings everyday realism, weight, and operational authenticity to your model railroad. An ideal model for operational model railroaders, collectors, and layout designers focused on realistic freight transport.
