Busch 52719 H0 VW 181 Kurierwagen ABC Wagen, Baujahr 1970

The VW 181 Kurierwagen served as the NBC reconnaissance vehicle (ABC-ErkKW) of the Munich Land NBC platoon. Following the successful testing of two prototypes by the Federal Office for Civil Defense in 1972, a further 198 VW 181 Kurierwagens were ordered for use as NBC reconnaissance vehicles. These vehicles were typically painted orange with a black folding top and were equipped with equipment carriers for loading as well as special signaling and radio systems in the central disaster control workshops.
