ESPEWE is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the legendary IFA W50 truck with a very special miniature: the ESPEWE 95292 IFA W50 LA/PV in the "350,000th W50" version. This exclusive H0 model honors a real piece of East German commercial vehicle history - the vehicle that rolled off the production line of the VEB Automobilwerk Ludwigsfelde as the 350,000th example.
Historical role model with strong symbolic power
The first W50 was built on July 17, 1965, and by 1990 over 571,000 units of this robust and versatile truck had been produced. The 350,000th W50 presented here was a specially decorated export vehicle originally intended for the Middle East - in particular Iraq and Iran. When it was completed, it was photogenically decorated and documented - an iconic image for the history of GDR vehicle construction.
