With the ESU 31439 H0 diesel locomotive KG230 No. 26, ESU brings a detailed model of a classic industrial railroad diesel locomotive to the layout. In the typical yellow of the Mannesmann Group and in the condition of Era IV (approx. 1970-1990), this two-axle small locomotive is a prime example of German industrial history on a scale of 1:87. Equipped with modern digital technology, numerous lighting functions and excellent sound, it is ideal for factory sidings, steelworks scenarios and shunting-intensive industrial operations.

Deutz KG230 - Robust, compact and reliable for decades

The Deutz KG230 B was one of the most versatile works locomotives of its time. 230 hp, either air- or water-cooled, robustly constructed and individually adaptable to different operating requirements. Mannesmann also relied on this reliable design. Locomotive no. 26 performed important shunting tasks there and was part of the daily picture on internal track systems. Their widespread use by industrial giants such as BP, Thyssen, VTG and Feldmühle is proof of the quality of these machines.

Model with high-precision technology and authentic appearance

The locomotive has a heavy metal running gear, openwork fan grilles, free-standing grab rails and a large number of separately applied details. The multi-colored driver's cab with inserted driver figure makes the model look particularly realistic. A bell-type armature motor with a flywheel provides the drive, while the LokSound 5 decoder provides authentic engine sounds - optionally air or water-cooled.

Digitally equipped for realistic operation

A smoke generator that works in sync with the sound, digitally height-adjustable shunting couplings and numerous lighting functions (headlights can be switched off, cab, console, shunting and running gear lighting) bring the layout to life. Even brake sparks for hard deceleration and flashing light functions are included. Thanks to AC/DC switching via a slide switch, the locomotive can be used flexibly on different digital systems.

With a length of just 92.3 mm, the model is ideal for confined industrial facilities, factory modules or inner-city sidings. The strong yellow color scheme stands out visually and also makes the locomotive an eye-catcher in collector's showcases.
