Class 111 - robust specialist for shunting service

Between 1981 and 1983, the DR procured a total of 37 class 111 locomotives from LEW Henningsdorf in order to meet the increasing demand for heavy shunting locomotives. Equipped with the proven 1,000 hp engine and a gearbox with an adapted transmission ratio, they reached a top speed of 65 km/h. The orange-yellow livery and the railings on the front ends to protect the shunting personnel were typical of the BR 111.

Model as delivered in 1982

Fleischmann supplies the locomotive in the version of the 111 018-8, based in Rostock depot, in the condition in which it was first delivered. The model impresses with finely detailed engravings, filigree railings and clean printing. Optimized for analogue operation, the locomotive can nevertheless be easily retrofitted digitally via the Next18 interface.

Solid technology for reliable analog operation

A 3-pole motor drives all four axles, supported by two traction tires and a flywheel for smooth running. The LED headlights change depending on the direction of travel and round off the harmonious technology. Thanks to the NEM 355 coupling with KK kinematics, the model can be used flexibly in operation.
