Hornby TT6088 TT BP TEA Tanker BP BPO87192, Ep. IV-V
Are you looking for a British tank car for your TT:120 layout that’s ideal for realistic oil and freight trains? The Hornby TT6088 TT Tanker Car BP TEA Tanker BP BPO87192, Ep. IV-V is a TEA bogie tanker car that brings a distinctive bogie tanker car in BP gray paint to your model railroad.
The model was announced as part of the TT:120 new releases for July 2026 and is based on TEA tank cars, whose prototypes were built in the 1960s and 1970s. TT6088 reproduces the car numbered BPO 87192 in BP gray livery.
TEA bogie tank car in BP version
The tank car impresses with its highly detailed design, featuring an accurate tank shape, neatly reproduced sheet metal seams, and numerous separately applied parts. The finely detailed undercarriage and the etched metal walkways on the tank roof create a particularly striking appearance when the car is part of a freight train formation.
Thanks to the kinematic NEM coupler system, the car is ready for use on TT:120 layouts. The specified minimum radius is the second radius, which means the model can also be used on more compact layouts.
Based on British oil trains
The 100/102-metric-ton bogie tank cars were built in large numbers and initially leased to private oil companies. They were used to transport large quantities of liquid raw materials and were a familiar sight in British rail freight traffic for many years.
In addition to the original manufacturers of the 1960s, additional cars were produced by Marcroft Engineering, Powell-Duffryn, and Greenbrier Europe. Get the Hornby TT6088 TT BP TEA Tanker BP BPO87192 tank car and add a distinctive British tank car for oil and heavy-haul freight trains to your TT:120 layout.
